Location Often referred to as the "Cradle of Western Civilization", Greece's history stretches across millennia. With hundreds of archaeological sites and museums, one can walk through the remains of prior civilizations and experience for themselves the artifacts and history that makes Greece so special. Located in the southeast of Europe, it lies at the meeting point of three continents, Europe, Asia and Africa. Beyond Athens located on the mainland peninsula, Greece is made up of thousands of islands scattered in the Aegean and Ionian Seas.
Program Through Thrive, Wake Forest University has made an institutional commitment to comprehensive wellbeing. Through this study away program, students will engage in a scholarly evaluation of factors that contribute to holistic wellbeing, a highly experiential immersion into culturally-specific wellbeing practices, thoughtful self-reflection, and development of a personal wellbeing plan. Learning, reflection, and action planning will better equip students to navigate subsequent curricular and co-curricular experiences in a manner that support their personal thriving.
